Gone but not forgotten

Hello all,

I have been busy studying and writing. I completed another novel "When Will Eve Be Forgiven?" and searching for an agent. I am also losing weight. This time with some success. I have many pics to share of my garden but not today.

I am working on my next book already "When Does 'No' Mean 'No' in a Christian Marriage?" I deal with a lot of issues in regards to women. One may think that I am a feminist, but I am not a feminist in the true sense of the definition. I am a true advocate of all humans to be treated as God intended.
My vacation this year was fast and furious. I use to enjoy the airports. It use to be so many interesting characters in the terminals. I loved people watching. The businessman, the Texan, the working woman, etc. The Airport is so bland now. There is no class distinction by clothing. Everyone wore sad looking casual clothing. There was no flash and dash like before. I could not tell the upper class from the middle or lower class. I was dissappointed. Where are the jetsetters?
I found myself not being wary of the pick pocket or everyday con artist that use to lurk around in the 80's. That is an era gone by. Flying is safe and sterile. I was happy though, since it was my childrens first time flying. The sense of security was comforting and that is more important than my mid-life thrill seeking.
Anyway, hope to be freed up to blog more often.
Are there any non-feminist Christian women writers out there? I am disappointed in what is available for our future Christian women to read and shape their lives.
Let me know of some good authors that deal with serious women issues of importance not how to have peace or how to gain wealth.

End of May Blooms

The dark pink rose with the yellow center is a rambler rose that I do not know the name of. It blooms once in late spring. The light pink rose with tons of blooms is a fairy rose. The one large pink bloom is a Peony that grows very tall and falls over when it rains. The rain stains the unopened blooms and turns them an ugly brown. And I had to post my pansies as it is getting in the upper 80's and they will be pulled up soon.
Enjoy nature and enjoy life.

I'm Free!!!!!!

I just finished the last final exam today. I will be resting my poor tired eyes and brain for a while. I must say that I am happy to have one year behing me. I would have never thought that I would be in graduate school.
I have done so many things this year and I look forward to going on vacation at the end of May. I am going to Disneyland!!! Life is good if you look at the good. I enjoyed teaching my first seminar. I pray for more good things to come.
On blogs people try to be controversial, but I just will be me. I am a simple country gal. Oh, yeah, my summer attire is going to be dresses. I usually wear shorts, but I think I will be cooler in the 100 degree summer heat. And I will be taking 3 classes this summer at Seminary.
So heres to being free for a while. I will make the most of it by gardening and sleeping. I think I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome because I sleep alot.
I plan to stop with the sodas. One of my professors said how obesity bothered him because it represented a lack of discipline in the Christian life. Obese people are so hated in America and there are so many of us. What is normal anymore. Things that once shocked people now resides on the coffee table.
To all those graduating from anything any where; join me in a happy shout "I'M FREE!!!!!

Favorite blooms so far in May 2008

I planted a planter with the Asiatic Lilies of deep maroon which I love and wish would last all season. The planter has Dusty Miller, Lantana, a purple haunging vine to fill in while the lilies are not in bloom but cannot yet be cut down. The purple is my first Clematis which has at least four big blooms on it. I planted it about three weeks ago and it is doing well. The white is a frilly Shasta Daisy that I cannot wait to divide next spring. It is a new addition this week. I love the peach roses and try to have at least one in my garden. This one was added last year. And finally my pink Peonies are getting ready to bloom. The bush is tall and the blooms are too huge to stay upright. I have staked it, but I don't know how much that will help. I moved two peonies that I thought had died years ago, but they peeped up this spring and I put them in a better place of pampering. Well, stayed tuned weekly as usuall to see what is going on in my world.

What a great weekend

What a great time I had at Hidden Secrets in Flora, Mississippi. The store is absolutely beautiful and is only surpassed in loveliness by the owner and residents of the city. I was surrounded by flower and life go-getters. The refreshments were delish and the conversation, stimulating. If you are ever in Flora, stop by Hidden Secrets and the local library; you will be glad that you did.

The middle left picture is Mrs. Betty Allen the librarian at Flora's Library. She is an avid gardener and shared her expertise. I could not have asked for a better hostess.
The picture to the bottom left is Mrs. Henrietta, librarian at Beverly J. Brown Library in Byram, Mississippi. She is a friendly burst of sunshine that you must meet. The library is a welcoming enviroment for all. The loyal patrons of the libray were a joy to spend the morning with. Mrs. Henrietta surprised me and presented me with a blooming vine that I have not seen before. You know that I am more than excited to see how well the plant does and how well I do with the plant. Be on the look out for a close up shot of my gift.
I can not express my gratitute to my two hostesses for the weekend. I enjoy meeting nice people and that will never grow old with me. I was happy to know that the community of Byram care about their youth and encourages them to read and excell. I look forward to visiting two new found gems of the south; Flora and Byram again. Stop by and tell the ladies hi one day.

My garden begins

This is just a peek at the plants peeking at me.

The above is my Chinese rose of many colors.

My garden is only 1/3 if that begun.

Below is an ugly embankment that faces my front door. I plan to put a fishing lake there (one day).

The wisteria was a brilliant purple that my camera failed to capture.

ODE TO THE DANCE OF LIFE
The beauty that is yet to come plays the illusive dance of spring. Plants peep and test the water with a petal to make sure old man winter/frost has left the building. I wish that I could be more reasuring to the cautious child of spring 08, but I, myself have to check to see if today is a coat day or a no sleeves day.

Oh, but the joy of newness and all of the trials of growing that is faced by us all. Be bold, be couragous, and dare to grow. There may still be a danger of a sting of unpleasant cold/frost that may threaten to bite your tenderness. But oh, how far ahead of the game you will be, full of your glory and maturity, if you dare to live now in your time and your season.

Spring forth now. Push the dirt of life that protects and restrict all at once and make your presence known. Face the sun and shine. Someone waits for you, prays for you, and will never be the same once they have met you. A eye of hope searches for you, because if you are willing to continue the dance of life, maybe they can too.

Forgive me please.

Well, it has been a while since I have posted. My computer crashed and I have to try and fix it.

What has been going on out there? I am actually feeling under the weather due to my allergies. My daughter was a survivor of the tornado that hit central MS. I had a scare for a while there.

There are so many things that I would like to say, but I must be wise. I pray diligently for my mouth and I wish that others did also. It is a major instrument of murder. I use my WEAPON to try and build up people when I can but I refuse to do the if you do not have anything nice to say thing. I chose honesty that helps and not hurt. I guess I have an automatic high powered long range weapon for a mouth. I affect people when I am not even trying.

I hope to affect many people during my seminar the last two days of April and the first day of May. My seminar is "Genesis: The timeless beginning." Pray for a good turn out I will post the seminar after I complete it. I hopeing for many people. I checked out Oprah and her new age message. She is the reason why Genesis is so relevant. People want to jump her for coming up with something new when the watchers of God's words must have abondoned ship. How can so many people be looking for something new if they had the best The Old Testament and the New Testament.

If you haven't noticed I am not quick to blame others without holding self accountable. Where have all of the upset Christians failed God? Something went wrong before Oprah.

My plants are blooming and I am giving a book presentation at a book store and at a church on Mother's day. Pray for me and drop me some pics or words of encouragement.

How mad are you today? Remember it is a choice, choose to find something in your day to make you happy after your initial moment of anger.
